The Sakakawea Inn is open 24 hours a day. Rates are very reasonable for military personnel and reservations can be made for a maximum of 30 days. Extensions may be granted in the case of hardships. There is a serious lodging shortage in the area and reservations are very strongly recommended year round and can be made 60 to 90 days in advance. Lodging for PCSing personnel is priority, but is limited during PCS season.

Private lodging can be very limited nearby, especially in summer. Local hotels and motels may offer extended-stay options and military specials. Make arrangements as soon as orders are confirmed - if lodging cannot be secured, the nearest alternate lodging outside Minot may be 75 or more miles away.
